Schwing Bioset signs stock sale agreement with METAWATER

Schwing Bioset, Inc. (President Tom Anderson; hereinafter “SBI”), a U.S.-based engineering company, announces that it has entered into a definitive agreement to sell all shares to METAWATER Co., Ltd. (hereinafter, “METAWATER”), through METAWATER USA, INC.
SBI, incorporated in Minnesota, USA, is a leading engineered product manufacturing firm specializing in sludge treatment, conveyance, pumping and storage technologies in both municipal and mining markets across North and South America. Since its inception in 2006, SBI’s pumps have held a significant market presence in the North American municipal and mining markets, particularly for its ability to pump sludge and tailings with low moisture content.
With the North American market for sludge treatment expected to continually grow with increasing populations and evolving environmental regulations, this is the perfect time to initiate the next phase of SBI’s growth by incorporating the resources of METAWATER with the transaction scheduled to close on April 1, 2025.
METAWATER was formed in April 2008 through the merger of the water environment divisions of NGK and Fuji Electric, and is the first company in Japan to integrate machinery and electricity in the water treatment field. In addition to providing the mechanical and electrical design required for water environmental plants as products, METAWATER provides optimal solutions for water supply and sewage facilities through its business activities, which encompass plant design, construction, operation and maintenance.
Through its acquisition of SBI, METAWATER Group will strengthen collaboration within its existing North American subsidiaries, Aqua-Aerobic Systems, Inc. and Wigen Companies, Inc. This will create significant synergies across its North American operations and enable METAWATER Group to deliver innovative solutions to its customers.
